Converter structure

The converter body consists of a furnace shell and lining. The furnace shell is welded from steel plates, while the furnace lining consists of three parts: a working layer, a permanent layer, and a filling layer. The working layer is directly in contact with the liquid metal, slag, and furnace gas in the furnace, and is prone to corrosion. Asphalt magnesium bricks are commonly used for masonry in China. The permanent layer is tightly attached to the furnace shell to protect the steel plate of the furnace shell. The permanent layer cannot be removed during furnace repair. A filling layer is set between the permanent layer and the working layer, consisting of tar magnesia or tar dolomite. Its function is to reduce the pressure on the furnace shell caused by the thermal expansion of the working layer and facilitate furnace dismantling.
