External Electric Heating Activated Carbon Regeneration Furnace


Equipment description:


The electric rotary furnace is composed of drum, transmission and support mechanism, charging mechanism, charging end cover, discharging end cover, dynamic and static seal, electric heating furnace, measurement and control system, safety measures and other partss.

1.Drum
The roller is made of heat-resistant stainless steel 310S material, which can resist the corrosion of general acid, alkali and salt, and the rated temperature is 1000ºC. Drum size φ800*10500. The inner wall of the cylinder at the feeding end is installed with a inclined spiral guide plate, and the guide plate is connected with a straight turning plate. With the rotation of the drum, the upper and lower materials can be alternately heated and the temperature is uniform.
After the material is added from the feeding end, it moves to the discharging end with the rotation of the drum, and is heated, constant temperature and cooled until the discharging. The residence time of the material is adjusted by the rotating speed of the roller, and the waste gas generated during the roasting process flows countercurrent to the feeding end, and leads out from the exhaust gas port on the upper part of the feeding end cover, and the steel smoke is naturally emptied.

2.Transmission and support mechanism
The roller is supported by the front and rear two-speed roller rings, the outer wall of the roller is embedded with big tooth rings, driven by the reducer motor and pinion, the motor power is 5.5kw, the frequency conversion speed regulation, the adjustable range is 0.5-3r/min.
The rolling ring, gear ring, gear, and support wheel are processed using cast steel materials above 45 #. The small gear and support wheel are surface quenched, and the assembly of the supporting rolling ring, large gear ring, and drum is strictly carried out in accordance with the design standards.
The above transmission and support mechanism, together with the electric heating furnace, are installed on the overall steel chassis with an adjustable Angle range of 0-3°, and the chassis is equipped with universal wheels for easy movement.

3.Charging mechanism
Including: hopper, screw feeder, steel bracket, etc.
The screw feeder is used to feed, and the screw tube of the feeder is extended into the cylinder for a certain distance to avoid the return of the material. The feeding motor power is 1.5kw, frequency conversion speed regulation. The parts in contact with the material in the feeding mechanism are made of stainless steel 304 material, and the others are made of carbon steel Q235 material.

4.Feed end cover
The upper part of the charging end cover is provided with an exhaust gas outlet, and the plunger valve and sampling pin are installed. The lower part of the cover body is provided with a cleaning hole and blind plate sealing is installed. A screw feeder is installed at the center of the end panel of the cover body. The feed end cover is supported by the section steel on the whole steel chassis, and the thickness of the cover body fully considers the influence of the drum's thermal elongation. The inner lining of the feeding end cover is made of 304 stainless steel material, and the other is carbon steel Q235 material.

5.Discharge end cover
The discharge port is arranged at the lower part of the discharge end cover, and the plugboard valve is installed. A sealed observation mirror is installed at the center of the cover end panel, and a short gas inlet pipe is set next to it. The discharge end cover is supported by the section steel on the whole steel chassis, and the thickness of the cover body fully considers the influence of the drum's thermal elongation. The inner lining of the discharge end cover is made of stainless steel 304 material, and the other is carbon steel Q235 material.

6.Dynamic and static seal
The dynamic and static seal between the feeding/discharging end cover and the roller is sealed by multi-channel packing, with a total of 2 sets. Each set of sealing mechanism includes: roller dynamic ring, end cover static ring, packing compression ring, sealing packing, tightening bolt, compression spring, etc.
  Flange bolts are used to tighten the connection between the compression ring and the static ring. The sealing surface between the dynamic ring and the static ring is filled with multi-channel sealing filler, and the sealing is tightly sealed by the compression ring, bolt and pressure spring. Dynamic ring, static ring adopts precision machining to ensure assembly accuracy. The sealing filler is made of high quality graphite packing, high temperature resistance, self-lubrication, wear resistance and good elasticity, which is conducive to eliminating the influence of moving ring beating. In addition to the sealing filler, carbon steel Q235 material is used in the sealing mechanism.

7.Electric heating furnace
An electric heating furnace is arranged between the two supporting roller rings at the front and back of the drum, and the outer wall of the drum is heated externally. The electric heating element is arranged at the lower part of the drum, because the drum is rotating, it can fully ensure that the material is heated evenly.
    The lining of the heating furnace is aluminum silicate fiber folding module structure, which is ideal for heat preservation, less heat storage and fast heating. The heating furnace shell is metal structure, semi-round furnace top, removable, electric heating furnace and transmission and support mechanism are installed on the whole steel chassis, can be adjusted with the roller overall tilt angle, beautiful appearance.

8.Measurement and control system
Including: cylinder outside temperature control, exhaust gas outlet temperature detection, cylinder speed adjustment, feed speed adjustment, safety measures and other functions.
(1) Roller external temperature control
The temperature of the external heating furnace of the drum adopts automatic temperature control mode, 4 zones, that is, 4 groups of temperature control circuit, which is composed of thermocouple, PID intelligent instrument, thyristor power regulator and low voltage electrical. 4 K-type thermocouples are selected and inserted into the lower part of the roller by the central side wall of the heating furnace. The system can realize automatic control of the outside temperature of the drum in 4 zones, and the furnace temperature can be arbitrarily set below the rated temperature, and the temperature control accuracy is less than ±2ºC. By effectively controlling the external temperature of the drum, the temperature control requirements of the material inside the drum can be fully met.
(2) Roller speed adjustment
The adjustment of drum speed is realized by driving the reducer motor frequency conversion speed regulation, and the inverter operation panel is mounted on the control cabinet panel for easy operation.
(3) Feed speed adjustment
The adjustment of the feeding speed is realized by frequency conversion speed regulation of the screw feeder. The operation panel of the inverter is mounted on the panel of the control cabinet for easy operation. The determination of the feeding speed should gradually increase the feeding amount, and determine the appropriate feeding speed by exploring, which should not be too fast.
(4) Control cabinet

The instrument, power regulator, frequency converter and low-voltage electrical of the above measurement and control system are installed in a control cabinet, and the control cabinet is arranged near the rotary furnace. The thermocouple compensation wire is made of metal shielding wire.

9.Safety precautions
In order to ensure the safe operation of the equipment, the following safety measures are taken:
A) PID intelligent instrument has the function of overtemperature alarm. Once the outside temperature of the drum exceeds the set safe temperature, the system will stop heating and send an alarm signal.
B) Electric heating furnace and control cabinet shell should be reliably grounded.
C) Operate in strict accordance with the equipment operating procedures to ensure that the equipment does not exceed temperature, do not lack of oil and do not leak during operation

Activated carbon regeneration is the reactivation of adsorbed activated carbon after being treated under certain conditions. Activated carbon adsorption is a physical process,after the activated carbon is adsorbed and saturated, high-temperature steam can be used to desorb the impurities in the used activated carbon and restore it to its original activity for the purpose of reuse, which owns obviously economic benefits. Activated carbon regeneration is widely used in high value-added industrial production, such as activated carbon in the gold cyanide leaching process, activated carbon in the decolorization process of sugar mills, etc.
The activated carbon thermal regeneration method is divided into three stages: drying, high-temperature pyrolysis and activation. In the drying stage, the volatile components on the activated carbon are mainly removed; in the high-temperature pyrolysis stage, part of the organic matter adsorbed on the activated carbon boils, vaporizes and desorbs, and part of the organic matter undergoes a decomposition reaction to generate small molecular hydrocarbons and desorb out, leaving the remaining components in the pores of the activated carbon; during the activation stage, the temperature will reach 700~800 ºC. Scientific practice has proved that high-temperature steam is the best activation medium, which can not only clean the micropores of activated carbon, new porous structure is etched on the surface of the activated carbon too, making the activated carbon to restore its adsorption performance.
